Membership and Workshops
Bath Textile Artists is an exhibition organisation, holding one or two exhibitions each year. Every three or four years they also hold a retrospective exhibition. Galleries, museums and art centres in Bath, Bristol, Wiltshire and Somerset are among the venues used.
The group provides internal mentoring and support at its meetings, which are held at approximately six weekly intervals. The venue, day and time are regularly altered to suit the work and other commitments of the members.
If you are interested in joining the group please contact the secretary using the contact form on this web site. The secretary will contact you to answer any of your questions, and ask you to submit a paragraph or two about yourself and your work, with two or more images.
Membership is by interview and this gives you the opportunity to display your work and talk about it to the group in person.
Once a year we hold a workshop day. This is an internal event to explore a new technique or design pathway and is led by a member of the group. Previous workshops have, amongst other topics, covered gelli plate printing, transferring images onto fabric, Japanese boro technique, distressing fabrics, batik, cyanotype image making and designing to limited parameters. See images below of a recent workshop.
